We're Back!

So things have been crazy at my house. I have a semi-new baby brother. His name is Kyle and he is almost 4 months old. Mom has been to busy to let me play on the computer lately so I have not posted any blogs. SHE has been on facebook instead. Anyway we have hung out around the house today. We went swimming for a little while but it was COLD! I will be adding some pics later.

Things have been way too busy!

Sorry everyone, I have been out of touch for awhile. I was really, really sick and so was my dad. Mom was very tired too. THEN the work on my and Kyle's room began. I now have a beautifully decorated princess room (my walls are a fabulous pink) and Kyle's room (my old room) is a great green and blue color. Mom has taken pictures as we went but has not had a chance to download them. She is getting bigger by the minute! Dad has been doing a great job working and painting. Mamaw, Papaw, Nina and Poppie have all helped too. When and if Mom gets a chance we might go back and update.

Yesterday though we went and had family pictures. I am putting a few of these online today--I hope you enjoy.

I also had my Easter pictures taken too. Doesn't my hair look beautiful? Mom cried while I was getting it fixed. She said I am getting too big. I don't know why this is a problem--do you?

Still waking up with a fever

Today I woke up with a fever again. I feel fine but I can not get rid of the fever and snot. My cough is better but my nose is still full of snot. I try to play with Mom and Dad today but they feel pretty bad. We have yet another day of watching tv and computer playing. I hope we can all get better soon so we can enjoy the weather before it disappears again. Bandit has loved it outside. Mom and Dad are talking about disinfecting the house. I am not sure what that means but is does not sound like much fun. They are getting out the cleaning supplies as I type. . .

Today I wake up and feel pretty good. Mom says the night went okay too. We woke up at 4:30 with my fever up again. I take some medicine and we go back to sleep until 11am. Crazy huh? Dad stayed home today and went to the doctor. He has a sinus infection. I hope I don't get that. I am sick of being sick. Mom is sick of me being sick. Dad is sick of being sick.

Anyway, Mamaw comes over and gets me to give Mom a break while Dad is at the doctor. We go to Target and I get all kinds of great things: clothes, shoes, toys, food (all on sale of course). Then we go home. I nap with on Mom and Dad rests too. Hopefully tomorrow everyone will feel better.

Snotty, Snotty Sunday

Well last night was not great. I had a fever again and my snot is out of control! Mom had to sleep with me and she wakes up feeling bad. Dad feels bad too--all achy and coughing. We get nothing done to my new room. Mom worked and when she gets home she is tired too. We have a quiet, snotty night here at home.

Saturday is here and the weather is great.

I feel much better today! Dad slept with me and he said I was fine all night. Mom went to work and Dad feels a little better too, so he wants to get my new room ready so they can make my room Kyle's. I think this is a great idea so I go to Mamaw's. I feel so much better Papaw takes me to the park for a few hours. THEN I fall asleep without taking any medicine. I wake up and puke snot EVERYWHERE! Mom gets to Mamaw's when she gets off work and gives me some medicine and I am fine again for awhile. Meanwhile Dad has started working on my new room. He has not had alot of luck getting the border off the walls though. Mom and I go up to help after my snot is under control again. Mom and Dad get the border off the wall in about an hour working together. They make a good team. Well it is off to bed!

Still sick

I am getting better but am still a little sick. Mom is getting very little sleep because she is taking care of me, so she feels bad. Dad has been working but he is sick too. We are not a healthy house right now. I hope we are all feeling better soon.

To the Doctor I Go

I am no better today, so Mom and Dad take me to the doctor. I saw Dr. Stites. She seams pretty nice but Mom was not impressed. She told us it is a virus that will last 5-7 days and to treat the fever but to do nothing for the cough and runny nose. Try some tea with lemon and honey. Mom thought this was a load of crap. (Yes, I said crap because that is what my Mom said). Tea with lemon and honey--has this woman ever had a 3 year old? (Once again just repeating my Mom). So Mom gets out the medicine basket and does what she thinks best. She gives me some GREAT medicine that gets rid of my cough and helps me sleep. Thank God for moms that are smarted than physcians. Mom said she was going to call Stephanie tomorrow (I think she means Dr. Lynch, my regular pediatrician) and talk about my visit. Anyway I hope to be feeling better very soon. . .

I'm Sick

Today I woke up feeling bad. Mom had to work 12-9 and I did not want her to leave. I felt pretty bad. I started running a fever about 11:30 and she gave me some medicine and had to leave. I cried really hard for her. Miss Manda tried, but I wanted my Mom. My fever kept getting higher and higer and Manda called Mom at work. Since it was Walker Wednesday at Kroger, the busiest worst day of the month for Mom she could not come home. Mom called Mamaw instead. Mamaw came over and got me cooled off and fed me popcicles. Mamaw left me in Dad's hands around 7:30. He did not give me any medicine, so by the time Mom got home my fever was back up to 102 again. She got me cooled off again but did not sleep all night worrying about me.

Everybody's tired

Well today is Sunday, The Granny's birthday. Last night we went to dinner with Nina, Poppie, The Granny, Aunt Kat, Uncle Brian, Uncle Mike, Chris and Sean. I had a blast! We ate at Golden Coral and I got ice cream. Uncle Mike let me run like a lunatic. It was great. The Granny had a good time too. Dad is getting this really nasty sounding cough though and he is awfully tired. Mom is having some early contractions so we are taking a lazy day. I guess that's okay because they are letting me play on the computer and watch tv all day. Mom is afraid I am rotting my brain cells by watching too much tv, but I tell her it is okay every now and then. I love Phineas and Ferb on the Disney channel so much that Mom and Dad have started TiVoing episodes so that I can watch them over and over. It is great!

Not much happening here...

Mom has had to work EVERY DAY this week. Miss Manda has watched me and we have danced and played and I have opened all my new toys and played with them, but I miss my Mom. Dad has worked too, but that is pretty normal so I have missed him, but I get to see him every night. Mom does not ususally work this much and I do not like it. Can you believe no one has taken my picutre this week? What is a girl to do? The weekend is coming up and both Mom and Dad are off so I think we are going to have some family time. YEAH I have missed them too much!

Party at Gattiland!

Today was fantastic! We got up went to Church and then Mamaw's and then to my party at Gattiland. My family and friends were there and I got pizza and cupcakes! THEN presents and then games. It was a blast!

MY BIRTHDAY! I AM 3 TODAY!

Today is my birthday! It has been a great day. Since I staid the night with Mamaw and Papaw, Mom had to come over there to visit me. Dad had to work (even though it was Saturday--a bummer for him). About noon I decided I wanted to go swimming with Papaw. We had a blast! Mom did not have her camera so she used Mamaw's. When she gets a chance she will upload some pictures of me swimming. I am the best swimmer ever! Then Mom took me home and I got my present from Mom and Dad--another pair of red cowgirl boots. I had been so disappointed since my other pair became too small. I took a nap and then Mom woke me up and said we had to get ready to go to our birthday dinner with Nina, Poppie, Aunt Kat, Uncle Brian and Ellie. I had so much fun. Once again Mom did not have a camera so you will have to check Ellie's blog since HER mom was prepared. Then I thought I might stay the night with Ellie, so we all went back to her house. After Ellie went to bed though I decided I should probably go home to my bed too. All in all though today was one of my best days ever. An tomorrow I get to go to my birthday party at Gattiland--I can hardly wait!

Another Day to Play with Mom

Today Mom was off again. I love these days! We got up and played for a long time. Then we had to get ready--Mom had yet another doctor appt. Mamaw was busy so I got to go with Mom to hear Kyle's heart beat. It was great. I am going to be a wonderful big sister. Then we went to Mamaw and Papaw's so we could go to dinner with Aunt Mary, Miss Judy and Dad. We went to Texas Roadhouse. Since my birthday is tomorrow I got to ride the saddle around the restaurant--I am not really sure about this, it kinda embarrassed me. Since it was play night for Mom she had to leave and I got to stay the night with Mamaw and Papaw. No pictures today. Sorry just and update.

Went to the park

Today the sun is out! It is cold but there is sunshine. Bandit and I have cabin fever really bad so we talked Mom into taking us to the park. Yes, I know it was only 37 degrees outside, but a girl and a dog need to play. We just put on lots of clothes. I had a blast. My Mom must love me alot to do this. Check out my red nose!

Mom's Birthday!

It's Mom's Birthday today! I am so excited. Another party! We went to Mamaw and Papaw's house after Mom and Dad got home from work. Mamaw made a huge dinner and we all ate till we could pop. Sometimes when I look at Mommy's belly I think she is going to pop for real. Kyle must be HUGE. Dad and I have fun poking her belly and watching Kyle kick her. We also tickle him and shake her belly to see if he will move. It has been fun watching her belly jump around. Anyway I digress. . . Back to the party. We have more cake and open presents and take some pictures. I hope you like them, I am an excellent photographer.

Valentimes Party at Nanny's

Today we get up and get ready for Church. Mom says to put on a really pretty dress because we have a party to to afterwards. I pick out my favorite green dress and am so excited because I love a good party! After Church we head to Nanny Roberts' house. Aunt Mary Lue is there and we have a great party. She has balloons and a cake and presents too. We eat lunch and visit a while and then the sugar high wears off and I get so tired. We go home and relax the rest of the day.

Valentimes Day!

Today Mom woke up and wished me "Happy Valentines Day" I keep telling her it's Vanentimes Day but she won't listen. We gave Dad his card first thing. Mom and I worked hard and recorded him a message in his card and then it plays "My Guy" He loved it. Then I brought him his present one piece at a time. First some brownie batter, then an apron, then the icing, then the sprinkles, then the pan, then another apron (one for me and one for Mom), then just me. We had a wrestling match and tickle fight. I was so hungry after all that work I told Mom and Dad we needed to go to Jessie's for breakfast. I also REALLY missed my Poppie so we called and invited Nina, Poppie, Aunt Kat, Ellie, and Uncle Brian to breakfast with us. It was alot of fun. Aunt Kat and Ellie gave me these really great heart stickers. I passed them out to everyone I saw. I did not want to leave the restaurant but Mom and I had to go get our haircut. Off to Bardstown we went. I got a surprise though--Mamaw was going too. We were Aunt Carolyn's last appt of the day so we went to lunch with her and Mamaw Logsdon, Nanny, RuRu, and it was so much fun! I got to pass out even more hearts! The waitress loved me I'm sure. Mom forgot her camera so there are no pictures of us today.

I am Captain Jack!

Well tonight I decide that I will not go to bed unless I get to wear my pirate dress from Halloween. Mom compromises with me and I concede to just wear my pirate hat. We make a good team. I think I am pretty cute in just the hat and my jammies! Check out my nose--it is still healing. Papaw has brought me a gift every day since it happened. Today I got a cookie arrangement. Maybe this getting hurt thing isn't so bad after all.

I hurt my nose!

What a day! I went to visit Mamaw and Papaw today. It was so nice outside that Mom and I walked over. While we were there Mamaw asked Mom to follow her upto the car shop so she could drop her van off to get some work done to it. Papaw would watch me. Sounds like a good plan, right? Well let me clue you in to a secret--Papaw should not be left alone with busy kids. While Mom and Mamaw are gone Papaw and I decide to go for a stroll--I sit on my green tractor and he pulls me around the block. We had just gotten home when I have this urgent need to run up the driveway. I trip over a crack in the concrete and go flying forward. I land on my hands and nose. I am bleeding pretty bad and all poor Papaw could do is cry with me. Much to my relief Mamaw pulls in the driveway right as I am starting to panic--Papaw does not know how to fix my nose. Mamaw takes me inside and gets some ice and starts cleaning the blood. Mom follows a few minutes behind and she picks me up and takes me to the rocking chair and rocks and sings until I feel better. After about thirty minutes I decide I will live and Mom and I can go home to see Dad. I also need to make some phone calls--with a bloody nose and scratches to boot who knows what kind of sympathy gifts I can get. My first call is to Nina . . . .

Nina's Birthday

Tonight we went to Aunt Kat's after Mom and Dad got home from work. It was Nina' s birthday party. I had a blast! We ate dinner, had cake, played Wii, played with Ellie's toys, and finally I took a bath with Ellie. It was awsome! Only problem was Mom's camera was acting up--we only got one picture and I am not even in it. It is of Mom and Ellie. I did not even get a picture with Nina and it was her birthday. P.S. look at how big Mom's belly is with Kyle. Last doctors visit he was almost 4 pounds!

The Snow and Ice have Arrived

1-27-09

Well the snow and ice have arrived. I was at Mamaw's house when Mom and Dad stopped by to TRY to get me to go home. They said it was getting really slippery outside and if I was going to come home it was time to do so--I politely declined. I was staying the night at Mamaw's for sure. They took this picture last night.

1-28-09

The next thing I know is I wake up freezing. Mamaw said we had to get up and get me ready to go home that Mom and Dad still have power what ever that means. I just know it means warm. So home I go. When I get there Mom and Dad do not think they will keep power very long so they are getting things ready. This means out comes the camping gear and firewood. How fun! I am so excited I dance in the snow.

Then Granny and Mary loose their power too. They come on over to get warm too. Even more fun--company. I am always ready for a party. I played so hard I fell asleep while Aunt Mary rocked me.

Then the unthinkable happens--we loose power too. Everyone decided to stay though since we have a fireplace, firewood, and a gas stove and water heater. It was awesome. I loved the fire. It was beautiful and warm. AND since the food would go bad in the fridge we had a feast to eat. Mamaw and I could even sleep upstairs with no problem. Mom and Dad had other issues though. They were worried about the basement flooding. Dad had to check the battery backup on the sump pump every 2 hours and keep the fire going. Mom just worries a lot so she could not sleep if Dad was not sleeping. He and Mom were so tired the next day and poor Mom had to go to work. But after Dad took a nap, he and I got to go and play. We played outside and went to the mall. Mamaw and Granny hung out in front of the fire and talked and played cards. Dad had some people come over and fix the sump pump with a water powered backup system. It seemed to make Mom and Dad so happy but all they could talk about was a good night's sleep with no flood worries.

1-30-09

My Uncle Steve's power came back on today so Granny is going to go stay with him. Aunt Mary is leaving for Florida today so she left too. Mom and Dad had to go to work and so did Papaw. That just left me and Mamaw to hang out. We played in the living room most of the day since we were running out of wood. Mamaw called Logsdon Land and magically they were able to come up with wood and 2 generators. One for us and one for Mamaw and Papaw. After Dad got home from work that night he and Papaw were building another fire and Poppie comes to visit. He tells us to come over to his house since he has power and not to worry about the generator that night. Mom gets home and starts packing. Poppie goes to pick up Nina and get some donuts and then our power comes on. I am really disappointed. I was looking forward to another slumber party. Mom calls Poppie to tell him and he says he and Nina will stop by with the donuts anyway. I then con Nina and Poppie into taking me home with them so I can continue the party. Life is good for a busy girl like me. All the adults look so tired though.

1-31-09

Today Mamaw and Papaw's power came back on too--they go home. I am so sad. I get back from Nina and Poppies and everything has gone back to normal. The house is quiet and clean. Mom and Dad are home and working on things there. Bandit is sleeping. I am really very sad the excitement is over. But there is a silver lining--more snow could be coming next week. . .

It's been a quiet week so far. . .

Well, not much new is going on at my house. It was a crazy weekend so we are "taking a few lazy days" according to Mom and Miss Manda. That means playing at home with my toys. It is fun but not that exciting. Mom and Dad keep talking about the weather and more snow. Maybe that means more sledding for me. I can hardly wait. Here is picture of me and all of my horses. I can not wait for spring so I can go see my real horse, Buttercup. I am too excited about that.

Today was too much fun--I went sledding down a huge hill with my babysitter and my friend Karis. It was awesome! Check out my pics. We had way too much fun. If you can't tell, I am the one bundled up in the white snowsuit and pink hat.

Harlem GlobeTrotters

Today I went to see the Globetrotters. It was awesome! I loved when they ran up and down the court and passed the ball the whole way. They could spin the ball on their finger, head, or nose! Then they would dance and sing. Plus I got my own popcorn. Last time we went to Cheedom Hall to see the rodeo in November Dad only bought 1 popcorn and ate almost the entire thing. Today he got one and I got one too! Life does not get much better than this!

My Granny Had a 95th Birthday Party

Today I got to go to a party. Mom said this was a super special party because it was for Granny. She was 95. She said not many people make it to be that old. I had a great time. I played with all my cousins, ate lots of junk food and cake, and was the center of attention from half the adults there. What a great day!

When Good Dogs Get Revenge

Let me just tell you something about my parents--they are mean! To begin with they are ALWAYS telling me to leave the dog alone. "Kara get off the dog, Kara stop riding the dog, Kara leave Bandit's ears alone, Kara stop bothering the dog." I mean the only time they want me to do anything with the dog is when he wants in or out and I have to go and open or close the door. AND tonight they let the dog aka Mr. Bandit attack me. He licked my cheeks, my lips, up my nose, my neck, my hands--anything he could reach. Mom and Dad just laughed. How humiliating. AND my Nina was here and she just laughed too. I get no respect.

My New Nightgown and Video Game

Today Miss Amanda came over and told me we had some places to visit. First we went to Papaw Siebert's house. While we were over there she had me try on this really cool new gown. She made it just for me. My Miss Manda sure loves me alot! Then we went to Mahaya's house. I had not seen Mahaya for so long! Before Christmas I think. She still had a present for me. It was a really cool video game you plug into the tv. Check me out!
